You must be of legal drinking age in your province or territory of residence to use this website and purchase any services offered. By using this site, you represent and warrant that you meet the legal age requirements.

2. Services Provided

buyabeer.ca provides a digital platform for purchasing drink tickets. We do not sell or distribute alcohol directly; we facilitate the purchase of tickets to be redeemed at participating licensed establishments.

3. Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)

Venue Discretion: buyabeer.ca provides a platform for the purchase of drink tickets. However, the actual service of alcohol is performed by third-party licensed establishments. These venues and their staff are legally required to follow provincial liquor laws.

Right of Refusal: Participating venues reserve the right to refuse service to any individual who appears intoxicated, cannot provide valid government-issued photo ID, or is otherwise in violation of local liquor regulations.

No Refunds for Refusal: In the event that a venue refuses service based on their legal obligations (e.g., intoxication or lack of ID), buyabeer.ca is not responsible, and no refunds will be issued for the unredeemed ticket.

Safe Consumption: We encourage all users to enjoy responsibly. Please do not drink and drive. Use local transit, ride-sharing services, or a designated driver.

4. Payments and Billing

Payment Processor: All payments are processed through Square. By making a purchase, you agree to Square’s terms and conditions.

Pricing: All prices are listed in Canadian Dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time without notice.

Accuracy: You agree to provide current, complete, and accurate purchase and account information for all transactions.

5. Refund and Cancellation Policy

All sales made through buyabeer.ca are final. Digital tickets/vouchers are non-refundable and have no cash value unless required by law. Please ensure you are sending tickets to the correct recipient.

Privacy Policy for buyabeer.ca

Last Updated: September 1, 2026

At buyabeer.ca, we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from our site.

1. Information We Collect

When you interact with our site, we collect certain personal information to provide our services, including:

  • Contact Information: Name and email address.
  • Order Information: Order ID, ticket quantity, and transaction details.
  • Communication Preferences: Whether you asked to be notified when your tickets are picked up.
  • Usage Information: Information about site usage and consent preferences where applicable.

2. Order Processing and Square Integration

When you complete a purchase, your payment and customer details are processed through Square. In some cases, the Square account used for checkout may be owned and controlled by Staging Site or the venue operating the event rather than by us, and we do not control how that Square account is configured, how payment data is stored, or how the organization’s own Square environment handles customer information.

We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers. Upon successful completion of a transaction, the Square payment processor may transmit essential order data to our system, including your name, email address, order ID, and ticket quantity. This information is stored in our secure database solely to verify ticket ownership, manage order fulfillment, and process pickup requests.

We process this information only for the purposes of transaction completion, order administration, and customer support related to your purchase. Any data handling performed by Staging Site’s Square account or associated payment environment is outside our direct control and is governed by the applicable Square account terms and the organization’s own privacy practices.

3. Automated Pickup Email Notifications

At checkout you may tick an optional box to be told by email once your tickets have been picked up. The box is unticked by default, and leaving it unticked has no effect on your order.

3.1 What We Send

If you opt in, we send one automated message after every ticket on your order has been handed over. It relates only to your own order and is not a subscription. Square may separately email you a payment receipt as part of checkout; that message is sent by Square, not by us.

3.2 How Messages Are Delivered

Your name and email address are collected during checkout through Square and stored in our secured database, where they are used only to fulfil your order and to confirm ticket ownership. Pickup notices are delivered using Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (AWS SES). Your name and email address are transmitted to AWS solely so that the message can be delivered on our behalf.

3.3 Delivery Records and Suppression

So that we can confirm a notice was sent and investigate delivery problems, we keep a record of each message we attempt to send. That record contains the recipient address, the subject line, the date and time, and the delivery outcome. We do not store the contents of the messages themselves.

If a message permanently fails to reach an address, or if a recipient reports one of our messages as spam, we add that address to a suppression list and stop sending to it. This protects other customers, because repeated delivery failures harm our ability to deliver mail to anyone. You may ask us to remove an address from that list using the contact details below.

3.4 No Marketing Use

  • Ticking the pickup notification box does not add you to any marketing or promotional mailing list.
  • We do not send newsletters, promotions, or advertising to addresses collected during checkout.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
  • You will receive marketing communications from us only if you separately and explicitly consent to them elsewhere.

4. Web Analytics, Cookies, and Consent Logging

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to assess general website traffic and improve the functionality and user experience of our services. Non-essential cookies and analytics features remain disabled by default until you provide explicit consent.

4.1 Google Analytics 4

GA4 may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your visit, including pages viewed, interaction data, device and browser information, and approximate usage patterns. This information is used to evaluate website performance and improve our services.

4.2 Cookie Consent and Consent Logging

In accordance with applicable privacy and consent requirements, non-essential cookies are not activated until you accept or adjust your preferences through our Cookie Preferences banner. This includes analytics and other optional tracking technologies.

  • Essential Cookies: Required for core site functionality, navigation, and security. These cannot be disabled.
  • Analytics Cookies: Used to measure website traffic and user engagement. These are activated only when analytics consent is granted.
  • Consent Logging: To maintain compliance records, we may log technical metadata when you accept or update your cookie preferences, including a timestamp, anonymized IP address, browser or device information, and the consent settings selected.

4.3 Managing Your Preferences

You may update or withdraw your cookie choices at any time through our Cookie Preferences banner or by clearing your browser storage. To reset your saved preferences, click the button below:

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with trusted third-party service providers, including Square and AWS SES, and, where applicable, Staging Site or the organization operating the event, where necessary to complete transactions, provide support, or meet legal or operational requirements.

6. Your Rights

As a Canadian user, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask that it be corrected, updated, or deleted where appropriate. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.

7. Contact Us
